The appearance of a wart is far from the most pleasant phenomenon. And people often wonder why they appear, and is it possible to somehow avoid such manifestations?
After all, it is really inconvenient and ugly, especially if the wart jumps on the face, between the fingers, under the arm. And with its accidental damage, severe bleeding almost always occurs.
Causes of Warts
By its nature, a wart is a benign skin neoplasm, a growth from the epithelium that appears on the surface of the skin. And he appears completely by chance. The rapid growth of unnecessary cells is provoked by a virus, the so-called papillomavirus, which can be found in the human body. This virus exists in many varieties, today there are at least hundreds of them. And each of the viruses provokes its own neoplasms, which can occur not only on the skin, but also on the mucous membranes. Condylomas, filiform and flat warts, as well as senile, flat, and of course ordinary - vulgar - they all appear due to the activity of the virus in the human body.
Why are warts so common?
Perhaps every person has at least one wart, there are not many lucky ones in this regard. This is natural, since more than half of the world's population has a virus that causes the growth of the epithelium, respectively, and almost everyone has warts. But still there is a certain exception: some people have a virus in the body, but warts never appear in their entire lives. This is due to strong immunity, with the body's resistance to harmful effects.
Infection with the virus occurs in most cases in childhood, but the first manifestations occur most often in adolescence. In old age, warts appear in almost everyone, and it is worth noting that this is not always associated with viral activity. Senile warts can occur on their own, and this is the only possibility of a symptom without a virus.
Where do they most often appear?
Many people note that warts very often manifest themselves on their hands. And this is natural, because it is often transmitted through the hands, especially if they have injuries, or even microcracks that are invisible to the eye. Touching the railing and handrails, shaking hands, and much more - all this can ensure the transmission of the virus, which in this case will give the first wart in the area of the hands, not far from the place of introduction. Frequent injuries and the constant presence of small cracks, corns, and other open gates for infection becomes a big handicap for the disease. But because of the work and habitual activities, minor injuries for the most part appear precisely on the hands.
Factors that increase the risk of infection include sweating and hypothermia in the winter, constant exposure to moisture, and dry skin.In these cases, it will be easier for the virus to invade the body through the hands.
The second most common are warts of the legs, which appear for similar reasons, especially if a person often goes to saunas, pools, where he moves barefoot. Tight shoes, sweating soles, an existing fungus - all this increases the risk of warts.
What can cause a dormant virus?
Even after receiving infection in childhood, a person may not encounter a single wart in his entire life. And there may be a reverse situation - sometimes warts occur completely suddenly and massively. This means that there was one of the provoking factors. Often they appear in adolescence, and here the puberty itself with all its features becomes a catalyst. Warts can spill out during pregnancy and other cases when immunity drops.
Warts pop up with diabetes, with exhaustion of the body by constant stress, malnutrition. They can occur along with symptoms of genetic diseases, and even if hygiene is not followed. In all these cases, the dormant virus can become more active and begin to intensify the division of skin cells in certain areas, which will manifest itself in the future as a wart.
In principle, this is a harmless phenomenon - if the wart does not hurt, does not grow, does not interfere with a person. But it is also worth remembering that it may turn out to be the initial stage of a malignant tumor, and therefore, for any suspicion of its growth, deformation, pain, you should consult a doctor.
