Quasar - the object having the highest absolute brightness in the observed part of the Cosmos. The circle of the increment region that appears around it is a source of powerful radiation that exceeds all the stars of the galaxy in brightness.
Scientists are trying to understand how extremely fast formation of quasars is possible using the example of 6 galaxies.
The fact is that astronomers discover mysterious oddities in the behavior of quasars. So, a group of scientists with Sarah Frederick (University of Maryland) clarified the results of nine-month observations obtained from the Zwicky Transient Facility sky study project. Researchers have found that there are oddities in six galaxies.
Astronomers discovered how these galaxies of the LINER series (Low ionization nuclear emission line region, that is, a galaxy with reduced ionization of nuclear emission and low brightness) very quickly turned into extremely bright quasars. This happened in a few months - the gap, by the standards of astronomy, is equal to an instant.
LINER galaxies are silent. They are slightly brighter than those in the central part of which there are huge black holes. But they have a much lower brightness than Seyfert-class galaxies with actively formed nuclei. Such galaxies, according to the existing working theory, can appear in large galaxies with intense star formation. In a year, objects with an equivalent mass of 1.27 solar are formed in them.
Scientists from the University of Maryland indicated that the purpose of their research was to study astronomical objects remote from us. S. Gezari, a researcher at this university, noted that his colleagues discovered a completely new class of astronomical nuclei. They are able in a short time to turn the galaxy into a bright quasar.
The modern theory of quasars explains that an object can become extremely bright for thousands of years. Recent observations indicate that this is not so: a mysterious astronomical object can become bright much faster. In the opinion of American scientists, the data obtained make it possible to cast doubt on the existing theory of quasars.
Modern astronomers believe that the data obtained from studies of six quiet galaxies will soon lead to a complete revision of the theory of the formation of quasars and their nature. Recent research is also talking about a possible imminent revolution in astronomy. So, a group of scientists discovered and explained in detail why quasars are not in one place.
Prior to this, it was believed that the objects in question are the most stationary objects in space. The discovery of a quasar with quadruple lensing will make it possible to understand the processes occurring in the Universe at the early stages of its formation, and at the same time solve the main scientific issues related to the evolution and further fate of black holes.
